shanet1975 Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 Hello, Really new to banshees and I am probably going to be purchasing one tonight. Thing is is that it is set up for using racing fuel. It has aftermarket heads and other things that I have no clue about. Hopefully someone can answer this....Can I just switch from racing fuel to gas? Probably have to screw with the idle and such as I think racing fuel burns slower, but I'm not sure. Any help would be greatly appreciated..... Quote
NYCBanshee7 Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 (edited) Depends on how much compression the engine now has due to the head modification. Anything over 155lbs of compression you will have to continue using race gas. If you use pump gas, you will destroy the engine. Edited February 20, 2005 by NYCBanshee7 Quote
shanet1975 Posted February 20, 2005 Author Report Posted February 20, 2005 Thank you for the input. Maybe I should consider something else. Sounds like a really good deal though. Friend of the families. 2002 with he said $4500.00 into the motor alone. I'm torn... Is race fuel that much more than regular 93 octane? Quote
NYCBanshee7 Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 You could always get a stock head, or just get the the optional domes. 60 bucks most places. Then you will be fine with pump gas. 1hr job. Quote

If it goes I'll be purchasing something. Will I have to mess with the carbs or anything? Not too farmiliar with the ins and outs of these machines....I just want to make sure I don't screw anything up... Quote
NYCBanshee7 Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 No you shouldnt. Just get the right domes, for pump gas and the elevation at which you ride. Quote
