yellabanshee Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 does anyone know why one of my carb slides and needles wont go all the way down......i have the tors removal kit on and i had them off for cleaning and now that they are back in one slide is off, i even tried to push it down with maunally and it wont go...........so when i push the throttle one side goes up about 1/8 inch then the other kicks in.........i hope this makes sense....does anyone have a suggestion......is the needle bent?.....or the seat it goes into bad? thanks for any help:) i do get a little back fire from iddle when i hit the throttle hard..........powerband seams real good Quote
rocketboy Posted January 29, 2005 Report Posted January 29, 2005 your tors removal kit has screw nutson top of carb caps, that adjust the slides one of your slides cant go down anymore while the other is up all the way this puts your needle grossly out of sync ,adjust those nuts so both needles and slides rise and fall at same throttle positions ,call toomey racing theyll talk you through it if this doesnt make sense to you , look through air filter hole with filter removed of coarse!, in your airbox and be sure theyr in sync and seat all teh way down when throttle lever is not applied Quote
yellabanshee Posted January 29, 2005 Author Report Posted January 29, 2005 thanks for the info. i am pretty sure i have them as loose as i can...... i have looked throught the air box and the left slide is all the way down, and the right is up, with the cable being loose.............this is where i am stumped.... its almost like the needle is farther down and stopping the slide from going down.......i can see the needle seat and stop the slide....so???? ideas??? thanks again for the help and reply:) Quote

rocketboy Posted January 30, 2005 Report Posted January 30, 2005 (edited) why dont you take your slide out unscrew the two philips head nuts in it and see if the clip is snapped into the needle be sure when you reinstall the slides your cutaway faces the airbox and theyre in sync rising and falling ,this should be an easy fix if its not your slide your needles fuct somehow :blink:if you have the correct mains for your carb theres really no reason needles shouldnt fall into teh main jet holes in base of your carb intake??????????????
