Wallrat Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 With a 40mm carb its gonna run like shit no matter what you do. Get some 35mm carbs. Quote
banshee88 Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 Why is that? 307870 i have a 35mm pwk, the same thats on there when trinity sells it. 125.00 shipped and ya can sell the big one on ebay to pay for it just an idea Quote
BeJay Posted January 17, 2005 Author Report Posted January 17, 2005 I guess I should do something like that. Well i jsut bought the thing because it was so cheap i couldnt pass it up... But now I know why it was so cheap. There isnt anyway to make the 40mm work. Quote
sredish Posted January 17, 2005 Report Posted January 17, 2005 What kind of carb is it? I don't imagine the carb will run as good as the 35mm. It will probably be a little short on the mid and have a little more top. That thing is so big, it'll be hard for it to draw enough vacuum at idle and low rpms. you should be able to get it to work tho, but you'll have to go through other means. Best thing to do is to sell it and buy a 33 or 35mm, honestly. Scott Quote
BeJay Posted January 17, 2005 Author Report Posted January 17, 2005 Shit, well I guess I will buy the 35 then. So anybody wanna buy a 40mm Kehin carb Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Shit, well I guess I will buy the 35 then. So anybody wanna buy a 40mm Kehin carb 308075 make sure somebody didn't modify the boot. I don't think a 40 will fit in the 35 boot.I run a 38 and it was a tight sqeeze. Quote
BeJay Posted January 18, 2005 Author Report Posted January 18, 2005 Well where do you measure it to find out what size it really is Quote
Wallrat Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Measure the I.D. (inside diameter) on the engine side of the carb. Quote
red ore Posted January 18, 2005 Report Posted January 18, 2005 Well where do you measure it to find out what size it really is 308337 I have a 34mm Mikuni (sp?)... you want it? It needs a choke kit (from cable to lever) and would need to be jetted more correctly. $30 shipped its yours. if nothing else, it will give you something to try other then that big ole 40mm Quote
BeJay Posted January 18, 2005 Author Report Posted January 18, 2005 I keep that in mind but after I get it rebuilt I am going to take to the shop and see if they can fix it first Quote
