rptorman Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 I am looking to get pipes for my shee. I will be doing a mild port job, K&N filter, TORS removal and the pipes. I do mostly sand riding. I was told that CPI in-frames are a good pipe for this type of riding and set up, but I have also read online and in the mags that FMF SSTs and Toomey T-6s are best. What do you think. Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 I run the t-6's and love them, but there not for a ported motor. toomey will tell you that. The t-5s work great on a ported motor. Quote
NugShee Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 Toomey T5's are a nice pipe for the dunes and once you get out there you will notice that everybody has them. CPI's will give you some more power and they sound just as nice as the T5's. I run CPI's and wouldnt ever buy a diferent pipe. I have seen a lot of guys try trading theyre Toomys for CPI's but once you get CPI's you wont ever go back. I also hear that shearer and rockets are similar to CPI's so you may want to look into them as well. Good Luck Quote

I have tried Dg, Pro Circuit, and now am at CPI and love them. Quote
rptorman Posted January 9, 2005 Author Report Posted January 9, 2005 The CPIs sound like a good pipe, but what about the performance side of it? Are they a good all around pipe or strictly a drag pipe? Quote
05bansh Posted January 9, 2005 Report Posted January 9, 2005 CPI are drag pipes. The ones most people run here are the CPI in frames. Its a drag pipe in your frame. What more could you ask for! I was debating on what pipe to get for almost a month, I chose the CPI's. Quote

05bansh Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 I cant wait for my CPI's to get here! a few more days! Quote
rptorman Posted January 10, 2005 Author Report Posted January 10, 2005 Thanks for all the replies. It sounds like CPI in frames are the going thing these days. Your answers might be what makes my decision for me. We'll see. Thanks again. More opinions are wanted so keepem' coming. FMF SSTs are also a concideration for me so anyone with opinions on those let me know what you think. How do the SSTs react to a mild port job? Quote
05bansh Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 If you are considering porting CPI's would be my #1 choice, then Toomey T-5's, and possibly Trinity if you want to fork out the cash. Quote
H250RHATER Posted January 10, 2005 Report Posted January 10, 2005 dude cpi's are nasty with poorting good for trail i ride them on mx and they rip like a mother f***** they just a have a ton of power Quote
rptorman Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 Thanks guys. Looks like I'll be saving a bit more money for CPIs. Oh well, better to get the good stuff the first time around. Quote
rptorman Posted January 11, 2005 Author Report Posted January 11, 2005 I was just checking out the Rocket website and was wondering how there inframes compare to CPIs? How are they for all around riding styles? Quote
