leadsled Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 ok i have a 2000 banshee, when i first bought it it wopuld start on the first kick every time now after i replaced the clucth cable is doesnt want to start on the first anymore,to the point where i kill myself trying to start it. now i notice that the left side pipe smokes more then the right side and has more oil around the exhuast hole where the right side has has none.also im not sure what to do abnout my other problem it seems when i turn the fuel on and while im trying to start it it leaks fuel out of the right side carb bowl like the float is stuck or something . no the bike runs fine and once it is started it runs allday no prob will start on first kick every time until motor get real cold after a few days of sitting i dont know if the hard starting is from the weather getting colder or what but if anyone has a good idea on what my problem is plz let me know.thanks Quote
bigboybanshee Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 It could just be the cold weather affecting your shee. Also, do you know what your compression is in the cylinders? That will tell you if you need a rebuild or not. As far as your carb issue, your float may just be out of adjustment. If you have a clymer's manual, it will give you the specs as to what it needs to be set at... Quote
leadsled Posted December 16, 2004 Author Report Posted December 16, 2004 but would the cooler weather cause one carb to run richer? the bike has 163 psi i think in each side, has cool head on and i run 93 octane. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted December 16, 2004 Report Posted December 16, 2004 Well, what do your plugs tell you? Is the left side plug look more rich than the right? If you have 163psi you do not need a rebuild, that's for sure. Quote
