03banshee04 Posted December 12, 2004 Report Posted December 12, 2004 I just installed a set of fmf sst with titanium silencers, also have fmf reeds on stock cage and clamp ons with +4 timing adv,put in a 30 pilot,4 th clip on needle with 310 mains, havent run it yet. was just wondering if this sounds too rich,at about 400 feet above sea level, also running a champion 8332 plug, with amsoil 50-1,just want to now if this is a good staring point? thanks Quote
Cooker Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 I have SSTs with K&N no lid and stock reeds. I have stock pilot, needle in 2nd pos and 310 mains and the thing is perfect. I started with 3rd clip on the needles and it was sputtering so I put it in the 2nd and it cleared right up. Quote
richybanshee Posted December 15, 2004 Report Posted December 15, 2004 That sounds good to me ... try it and let us know what you found out. I recommend you do the plug chop method. If you do not know how to do the plug chop method, well, go to http://www.dfn.com/benkaren/plugchop.html this is BenBBs page. I think that if you are 400 feet over sea level without airbox lid you are very close to the correct jetting. Keep in mind that every machine is different and you may need to got up or down a few sizes. Quote
Banchetta Posted December 17, 2004 Report Posted December 17, 2004 310 mains for 30-50 degree weather, needle 4th clip from the blunt end, stock pilots have always been the best combo on fmf pipes that I've found. Your very close, and I'd run it to try it out, then try the stock pilots and determine which ones work best for you.....This jetting is also for k&n filters w/ modded air box covers or no cover at all.. If you try stock pilots, then richen the needles as well to compensate. Quote
