1800bigk Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Is it possible to disable the tors without buying a kit and drilling on my carbs? I just want to unhook all the tors wires, will that be ok? tia. Quote
SouperSport Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 If you're not changing the Carb tops or getting a twist kit or anything, there's not much point to it. TORS just shuts off the ignition in case the carb slides stick open even though you've let off the throttle. It's simply a safety measure to make sure you don't kill yourself when your stuck at WOT and you want to stop... But to answer your question.....YES. Simply disconnect all the wires and your good to go. 1)Disconnect both wires from the TORS carb tops. 2)Disconnect electrical wire from thumb throttle 3) AND Disconnect the TORS control unit behind the front left fender (under the front of the gas tank)!!!!!!!!!! This only disables the ignition kill feature when the throttle sticks...nothing else. Hope that helps! Quote
