That is if you don't use a spacer plate.

You don't really think there is such a list, do you?  I'm not really going to go into that too much, but Trinity MUST know they do not have a good reputation for customer service, and because of the rather large checks they write Dirt Wheels for advertising, they don't much care because there will be a whole line of uninformed buyers that can't wait to throw a bunch of money there way to build a motor.  My question to you would be how many people that have bought a motor from them would buy a second motor from them?  You might be surprised with the answer, but what do I know?

Unfortunately, it's not that easy. People who are knowledgable are not easy easy to find and currently here at Trinity, we have a few and are always looking for more. Due to the specialized nature of the business, most of the time we end up training the people and it's a long process.

Trinity is also restructuring several things in the company. Many of the people we have had customer service problems with in the past have left the company. We have a new GM and are trying to turn around several things that people such as yourself have had problems with.

While I can't comment on Trinity, I can say that the man that ported my cylinders is a very busy man, I had to make an appointment several months in advance to get him to do the work for me.  He kept me updated every step of the way, even answering most of my emails in the middle of the night.

No offense to whoever built your motor (you seem to be very happy with his work), but Trinity is a company with over 30 employees, many of them working long hours but the fact remains that they have families to go home to at the end of the day. It is just a job.

By the way, I don't know if you guys know it, but I read these forums constantly and I do all the advertising for Trinity.

Believe it or not, the people here at Trinity hear your complaints and we are trying our hardest to fix some of the recurring problems we have here, but with the size of the company and with its longevity in the industry, many of these problems are long-term fixes and are not easily (or quickly) corrected.

No. A different stroke length affects the timing of all the ports in the cylinder. If you go from a standard stroke crank to a stroker crank you will have to update the port work to account for the different port timing. Also, you will need to tell the builder that you intend to go to a stroker crank later on so they don't alter the ports beyond that which will work on the stroker setup.

I think where you guys are getting mixed up with the plate it according to PassionRE, if you want to be able to go from a stroker back to a standard crank, you can if you use the spacer plate, but you can't if you don't. This is because the exhaust port in particular will be raised too high to go back to a standard stroke. If you use the plate with a stroker crank, the plate raises the ports in the cylinder in respect to the position of the piston/crank.

I would seriously consider how much money you guys are planning on spending and what you really want as an end result. If you are going for the all out drag banshee for the dunes then you are on the right track. If you intend on using this bike for play, general duning, mx, trails, ect., or anything that requires decent bottom end power with user friendly riding characteristics, I think a stock cylinder +4 stroker is more than enough. You will save you $thousands of dollars, and you'll be happier in the end. A lot of the guys that have the setup that you guys are going for have a second banshee to do most of their typical riding just to have a good time.

Thanks for the welcome... Trinity's next big project (if it goes through, which it looks like it will) will be HUGE... Can't give details on it right now but I'll mention that you all know the guy we'll be collaborating with on the bikes... He's on TV.

:D

It will be awesome.

rocketpig, did you all ever get your 600+cc cheetah running?

We've built a couple 610cc Cheetahs but no 645cc bikes yet.

In fact, we're building another 610cc right now. It should be done in a week or so.
