Labarraca_Baca Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 A friend of mine has a blaster that doesnt want to start i checked the carb for him and it looked like it was in good shape but still wouldnt start then when we tried to kick start it the engine was turning but there was no putt-putt sound coming from the exhaust like usually when the engine just doenst fire. im wondering if it might be one of the valves but im not experienced enough at this kinda stuff to know for sure also before it died on him when he revved it it would bogg for a few seconds then rev normal again then it just bogged and turned off and wouldnt start then when he tried to start it it back fired and that was that so i could use some insight Quote
svtkid78 Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 2-strokes don't have valves. Try putting in new plugs, and while you have them out kick the engine over a few times and see if any fuel comes out of the hole. When you checked over the carb, did you look from just the outsude, or did you take it apart and clean it. Quote

SDD Posted November 29, 2004 Report Posted November 29, 2004 i took it apart and gave it a good cleanin 286388[/snapback] Check around the bottom of the cylinder for oil. You might have sucked a base gasket. When blasters get hot this is more of a problem. Do a compression test and see if the piston "vented" itself or a ring is stuck. Quote
