Big Blue Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 What is the cost for a non resident to hunt in texas? hmmmm i do know that , its not gonna be cheap either. they do grow em big in texas though . 284816[/snapback] I didnt figure it would be to high ok, ks, mo, and Iowa nonresidents can hunt them for about $200. I just think it would be fun to go somewhere else for a change. Quote

I think that's an additional $80, not sure if you need it though. I'm going to get 3 licenses this year one shotgun and two muzzleloader it'll cost $63. We grow them big and plenty up here. Went out with the spotlight the other night and must have seen nearly 50 in the two fields we checked a nice big probably 250# 12 pointer just laying there staring at us. If you drove one mile with a spotlight in the fields up here I guarantee you'd see 100+ deer. Got me a maybe 190# 6 pointer two weeks ago with my truck. 70 mph and it only broke my grill. He only made it about ten feet. The deer are so thick up here the state has radio commercials for the slogan "Do not veer for deer" To many people getting killed trying to avoid the deer. I had heard the number was nearly 200 people killed but I'm not sure if that's state or nation? Quote
ledofthezep Posted November 25, 2004 Report Posted November 25, 2004 I pay $10 per tag for my deer that I 'harvest'. I can kill them all day long, but if I do anything after shooting them I have to tag it...that is, if they find out. That's the luxury of having my own land. I got about 400acres at the bottom of the flint hills here in SE ks; kick ass hunting & fishing. Quote

I used to get the land owners tags here they are $1 apiece but even with our almost 1000 acres the deer are always bigger on the other side of the fence plus we happen to border about 5000 acres of gov owned "natural prarie" which amounts to alot of weeds and alot of deer.
