Well I have finally got my banshee back from Motoworld after they completed transmission work on it. They would not start it there because I have a lightened flywheel and they tell me it is unsafe. So I started it and it was running great. Now here is the problem:

I let it run at idle for about 15 minutes and then I started revving it. No problems at all. Now it is time for the test drive. I went out and rode easily for the whole break in process. After around 10 minutes I heard a crunching sound and I lost all power. The bike would not shift anymore. I rode for about a half mile and losing more and more power. When I finally got back to camp I pushed in the clutch and it quit. Now the kickstarter will not even move. When I push it in nuetral I can hear the grinding on the tranny. I know that the top end is probally fucked due to the smoke that was pouring out of the intakes.

So I called the service manager at Motoworld and he told me that there is no way possible that the tranny can cause a problem with the top end. I was just looking for proof so that when I end up taking these assholes to court I can have something to go with. banghead

WEll nevermind about the last post. I found out what happened. The god damn idiots did not put any coolent in the radiator. No wonder there was smoke coming out of the intakes. The god damn thing overheated. Please remember. Do not go to Motoworld for anything.

oh lovely. Sounds like you have a lawsuit coming up. Hopefully they can just reimburse you for getting somewhere else to do the work on it. Price out a dealership rebuild and tell 'em you want that much.. :)

did they forget to put oil in the tranny too?

Make sure you get enough to pay for new cylinders, and porting if yours are ported.

Sorry to hear about all your troubles................

They claimed that the Coolent was not in the bike when I took it in there. I said no shit, cause you ripped the block out. There is no reason to fill the coolent when it is going to come back out. If I was told they did not replace the coolent everything would be fine, cause I would have done it myself. The service manager is a prick, so I am going to talk to the store owner on Monday when they open back up. Either way these assholes are going to pay for it. Hell I will try to get them to pay for porting, polishing, and boring!!!!

sorry bro, but i think that's youre fault :( . when we get bikes into service they go out like they come in. if we go to change a sidecover gasket and realize the clutch pack is in half backwards with 13 steels and 3 fibers, thats youre problem not ours.

not to mention that you should have gone over the bike anyways. no matter if you take your bike to the dealer for an oil change or take it to packard for a monster cheetah setup you should always check little shit like that, even the best mechanics make mistakes.

I agree with that. But do you check your oil after you take your truck in to get the oil changed? And the reason I did not put coolent in is because I knew it was all coming out. And yes they did put tranny fluid in. Its something that the tech said he should have told me, but the service manager told me that it was not his fault. I should have known that there was no coolent in it. Even though the expansion tank was full.

I change my own oil. But when i do i still let it idle for just a minunte and make sure that i put the correct amount in. Its just good practice.

Well to begin with, them not starting the bike due to it having a lightened flywheel is odd. How the heck could that be unsafe? Any reputable shop should test drive their work to make sure it is right. They should know if the engine is comming out, that coolant needs to go back in. I have yet to see a auto shop replace an engine without making sure the damn thing has coolant. If I were you, I would go to your local district court and file a small claims suit. It usually costs about $100 bones or so, but at least it may scare them to do the right thing......

About the clutch, do you at least tell them that the problem was found? Anyhow, I talked to the "Big Boss" at Motoworld today and he is pissed about what happend. He is talking to them right now and everything should be set here pretty soon. Looks that I am getting my .050 bore job, porting and polishing job done for free. So some good things can come out of someones fuck up.

Well it looks like I am going to court. Finally got a hold of him today. He said, if we would have raod tested it we would have put coolent in. But since it did not get road tested they did not. He than went on to say that if I would not have called the better buisness breau they would have taken it in and fixed it. But now that I called the better buisness breau they do not want to touch my bike and it is something that I need to deal with. Also I apparently signed a piece of paper that said there was no coolent in it. Funny thing is, I went down there to see this paper. Everything else was printed out and the coolent part was written in pen??? WTF??? So I got a copy of that and I just talked to my lawer.
