westexgt Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 I am looking for a bigger set of carbs, but I need some ideas on which ones to buy, and what I am looking at in order to run these (what fabrication is needed?). Thanks, Kevin p.s. I am looking at 34mm ballpark. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 there are a few ways to go. the two problems are fitting the carbs in the boots and clearing the clutch arm. The cheap way is to grind the bottom of the carb to clear the arm and then heat the boots up inh hot water and ram the carbs in. the semi cheap and 100% effective way is to get reed spacers and a set of aftermarket boots for your stock intake. The totaly sweet way is to get an aftermarket billet intake that spaces it away from the clutch arm and has bogger boots on it. Youll have to get some rubber tube for the airbox side boots. for 34mm carbs id look for a set of kehin 34pjs Quote
RNBRAD Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 My billet intake still didn't space the carbs out enough and ended up having to also purchase the reed spacer 5/8'' to clear the clutch arm. Just something to be prepared for. If you need some UPP carb to airbox adapters, let me know, I ended up not using mine. There for 34-35mm carbs. I found it real difficult to get in there and adjust the carbs because of the very tight fit. I just eliminated the airbox all together and what a difference it made. Quote
