williamjernigan Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 I have fmf sst's that I just installed not to long ago with the airbox lid on but without the snorkel. I only had 260mains with 30 pilot jets so that is what I installed and it runs good but I know that if I take the lid off or cut it then I will probrably need to rejet to about 275 or 280 mains. But with the weather changing I know I will need to go alittle higher. I am thinking that I will start with 300 mains and work down if I need to. I live in north carolina which is right at sea level and the weather will soon be anywhere from 30 deg to 55 degrees. Doesn't freeze much here. Will I need to change pilots, and or clip position? sredish Posted November 11, 2004 Report Posted November 11, 2004 There's another identical post down about 5 or 6, maybe 7 posts in this section. You won't be using 275s on your stock carbs, cause they don't make that, but your pretty close in your assumptions. Throw some 300s in there and see how she likes them, if your rich then you know where to go. Don't know what needle clip your on, but you should try the 4th from the top/blunt end if you not there already. Quote
