PolyKarbon Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 ARES is the best way to go, trust me. Quote
dogboystoy Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Lime wire is free like most of the others. I have used a few others (morpheus, kazza) I like limewire the best, as far as spyware goes you cant even go to most websites without getting spyware, so it is the nature of the beast. But, viruses arent a product of Limeire itself, it is from the file sharers themselves (you and I). So I recommend that once you download a file or 2, that you scan them for viruses, that way you are sharing virus free stuff. That is what I do, and then use lime wire to download a spyware remover. Wala there you have it. Good luck Quote

Lee Posted November 12, 2004 Report Posted November 12, 2004 Bit Torrent is the only way to go. screw getting samples of britney spears when you're trying to download the Deftones - Engine No. 9 on kazaa and morpheus. Seriously. it's the pro way to go. Takes some learning to get the methodology/brilliance of the network, but it's by far superior. But maintain the Torrent etiquette, and leave them torrents open after they've downloaded. it's the way it all works. (I leave mine open until i've uploaded twice what i've downloaded in megs). I do agree that Ares is quick and easy if you just want one song. I love archive.org's live music torrent finder. And there used to be a site called Sharing the Groove but that went down mysteriously. I still buy music, especially from my favorite, local, and indie artists that do need the money to make it. If the band flies in a G5 jet, I don't buy their stuff. they have too damned much money for their own good. Quote
