WILDERTHANU Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 THIS IS ONE STIFF THROTLLE...IT WAS MY FIRST WEEKEND OUT WITH THIS....ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM????? I USED THEIR CABLE AS WELL..... Quote
MotulMonsta Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 I got their thumb throttle & cable, but I refuse to use the cable..it's the biggest P.O.S. I've ever bought for my machine! The throttle asy took a little bit of modification to get it to work "just" right and it's been holding up well for me. The pull is lighter for me..the terry cable has way too much resistance in it for my taste and it's a P.O.S.! Get a motion pro cable and your probs will be solved. Quote
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 yeah my machine had terry's on it when i got it POS in my opinion average everyday motion pro stuff all the way Quote
WILDERTHANU Posted November 9, 2004 Author Report Posted November 9, 2004 YA, I HAD THE MOTION PRO TWIST ON IT FOR A WHILE, BUT I JUST LIKE THE THUMB BETTER, I CAN RIDE FASTER WITH IT....SO I SHOULD USE PUT THE MOTION PRO CABLE AND CARB CAPS ON??? I KINDA LIKED THE STAINLESS CABLE, BUT OF COURSE FUNCTION OVER LOOKS IN THIS APPLICATION FOR SURE!! Quote
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 I KINDA LIKED THE STAINLESS CABLE, BUT OF COURSE FUNCTION OVER LOOKS IN THIS APPLICATION FOR SURE!! 278720[/snapback] the way that they put the ends on over that oversized stainless cable is just simply a joke the stainless braided stuff is so much bigger than a standard cable is so they have these sleezes that they crimp over the ends.................and that stainless sleave isnt a very solid thing to crimp to and the sleeve will alwasy come off of the end of the cable Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted November 9, 2004 Report Posted November 9, 2004 I use the Terry Cable that came with my 2 into 1 carb and love it pull is equivalent to a Blaster on my 35mm no sore thumb anymore. Never tried motion pro but are you guys telling me that if I switch cables it Quote
WILDERTHANU Posted November 10, 2004 Author Report Posted November 10, 2004 SO WHAT COULD I DO TO LOOSEN THE DEAL UP A BIT???? Quote
PUSH THE THROTTLE Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 Do you have a cable luber? Might be worth a try. Quote
MotulMonsta Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 well, their isn't anything you can do except take the return spring out of the throttle housing...The cable is teflon lined and any lube will just ruin it. Also make shure their arn't any extreame angles in your cable routing..keep it as straight as possible. Quote
tats4life Posted November 10, 2004 Report Posted November 10, 2004 you can cut down the return springs to try and take some off the pressure off....that's what i had to do with my pj's on DR motor. Quote
WILDERTHANU Posted November 15, 2004 Author Report Posted November 15, 2004 (edited) THANX FOR ALL THE HELP....HOW MUCH SHOULD I TAKE OFF THE RETURN SPRINGS??? YOU'D THINK IT MIGHT MAKE ONE CARB OPEN/CLOSE FASTER THAN THE OTHER IF THEY ARE NOT PERFECTLY THE SAME LENTH.....SO I IMAGINE GETTING THEM PERFECT MIGHT BE HARD???
