williamjernigan Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 I just won a Chrome Lonestar roundhousing -1 swingarm for 355 on ebay with not a scratch on it. I was wandering though will an aftermarket swingarm skidplate will fit and if so then which one. I have heard that you may have to cut the skid plate if you shorten the stock swingarm but I hope that one will just bolt on to this one. Quote
tats4life Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 they make swingarms to fit shorten swingarms. any skid plate for an LSR swingarm will fit it.....just because the swinger is shorter.....the skid plate mounts don't change unless you take and shorten your stocker. Quote
williamjernigan Posted November 6, 2004 Author Report Posted November 6, 2004 I was wandering if I could get away with using stock carrier? If you take and drill a hole in center of carrier and tap it and then put a grease fitting in it will it work or not. Quote

Hopefully the swingarm also came with all the hardware for the brakes and hub. Quote
sredish Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 I just won a Chrome Lonestar roundhousing -1 swingarm for 355 on ebay with not a scratch on it. damn you!!! lucky sob Quote
williamjernigan Posted November 7, 2004 Author Report Posted November 7, 2004 Its about time I came accross a good deal. Tell all those other ebayers to step their bid game up. They aint reddy. Quote
BdBanshee Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 The skid plate should fit as long as the swingarm had the mounts on it. LS makes the swingarms with and without them. I bought one about a year ago off of Ebay and didn't even know you could get them without, had to fab and weld a set on. Quote
williamjernigan Posted November 7, 2004 Author Report Posted November 7, 2004 Do I need to just the carrier with brake caliper plate to finish this baby off before I install. Here are some pics of swingarm and of the carrier I am going to get if in fact it is the right thing. I attached a file Quote
tats4life Posted November 7, 2004 Report Posted November 7, 2004 that's somebody else's swinger with lonestar stickers on it.........but damn who cares it's chrome.....and see that carrier is exactly what you need. Quote

Meat Posted November 30, 2004 Report Posted November 30, 2004 (edited) PRM swingarm skidplate wont mount up without chopping the skidplate. All other skids should bolt right up. The PRM won't fit without modifying it because the PRM plate covers the rear shock linkage. You have to cut the plate to fit around the linkage. Air die grinder and some patience and the PRM skid fits shorty swingarms. Edited November 30, 2004 by Meat Quote
