sweetshee4312 Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Ok i got my freinds blaster dirt cheap, needs engine work, i got all the shit off, im ready to take the engine out...i did a compression test and its 120 psi...witch is good..he just put a new piston and rings in, but he replaced his spark plug alittle while ago, and when i took it out, the end if it was just fried. he just oculdnt get it to run right So i took off the head, and looked at the piston, it looks like maybe aliitle peice of dirt got in there, casue the pistons alittle pitted, verry little though....and theres lots of carbon build up on the top.... Should i go buy a new piston and rings, or since the compressions good, just leave it in there... I know it needs new seals, casue i knew it burned oil, and when i drained the oil it smelled like gas. so i know it needs new seals.... So what im askin is what to do, use the same piston and rings, or get a new one...i just need it to run pretty good to sell.... Quote
Leadfoot350 Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 take it somewhere and see what they say after measuring it. Do the walls look clean? is it just the top of the piston or any part of the sides? Blaster pistons are not too exspensive so you might as well get another one. Check out macdizzy's web site he does a complete rebuild on a butt blaster. Quote
