Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Can someone confirm for me the CDI pick-up Coil gap setting at the flywheel. I have 0.015mm - 0.025mm from a "Fitting an adjustable Stator Plate" page on the web. I can't find it anywhere in 'Genuine Service Manual' or the 'Haynes'. If it is there, what page is it on?? Quote
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 yeah 10-15 thous is about the standard spec for any pickup or magneto assembly Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Mine didn't have a way to adjust it, I just tightened the screws up. It's been good so far Quote
BdBanshee Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 Yamaha manual says .020", I set all mine to .030" Quote
Rare Scottish Tree Badger Posted November 6, 2004 Author Report Posted November 6, 2004 Thanks for your help guys. What page did you find the info in the Yamaha Manual on, BdBanshee . Cheers, David (Rare_) Quote
BdBanshee Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 I don't remember, it was in the PDF version I got from here. Quote
fixitrod Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 I recently put on a ricky stator stator. It didn't have much room to move and the clymers didn't have a gap setting that I could find. I just put some tension on it and pushed it toward the flywheel, tightened it up and made sure it didn't hit the flywheel. No problems. It just has to me close enough to detect the tab. It's used to make the coil drop it's spark. Since it is electronic ignition it's not imperitive to have it perfect like points. Quote
