Who Re-jets for Winter Weather

Recommended Posts

You need more jetting all the way around with pipes and no air box lid.  Especially at that elevation, low temps and humid.  You are going to burn it up.  Good luck.

Swapped the 280s out for 300s and it seems to really like them. ProCircuit ships their pipes out with 280s and recommends leaving everything else stock. I think i'll probably have to up the mains a little more if it gets colder out, but as of right now the quad seems to be happy with the 300s. I ran it to 5th wide open in every gear and it pulled strong throughout the powerband. I'm pretty sure the needles are fine at the 4th clip position, just a matter of perfecting the mains.

So, if you think the 300s aren't enough, where do you think I should go from here? Should I just keep going up in the mains until it starts bogging under WOT?

Toomey said 280s with their pipes also.

I am running 370 mains in my bike. That should give you an idea of how far off the instructions are.

Jetting up until it bogs is what you are supposed to do.

I would keep going up if I were you.

So much for Toomey's "Perfect Jet Kit". ;)

I'll pick some more main jets up; I guess 310 thru 370 and see what happens.

We have a saying in drag racing, too..."leaner is meaner". :)
