smokinwrench Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 I just bought my first banshee a couple weeks ago. Its a 1997. It is ported. It has DG pipes . Now my questions. 1. How much can I have planed off my head and still run 91 octane gas without pinging? 2. Are the twin bolt on K&N filters a good mod to help the motor breath? I know all about k&n I don't need a lecture on them. 3. With the port work I have what would be a good set of pipes to buy? All I do is ride sand. Big dunes and trails at Little Sahara and Beaver Ok. I prefer a topend pipe. 4. I will run 8 paddle skat trak haulers. What is the best front dune tire? NIce website to by the way Thanks Josh Quote
SICK BOY Posted October 24, 2004 Report Posted October 24, 2004 The amount you can mill of your head, and still run pump gas depends on your elevation. The pod filters will help your motor breath for sure, but if you ride in wet/muddy conditions you may want to think about keeping your air box and moding it.I'll let someone else post about top end pipes, because I was always looking for bottom to mid range power. What kind of porting do you have? NIce website to by the way Thanks Josh You can run 21cc domes with 93.Yes the twin K&N's will rock...i would recomend the outerwears. You cant go wrong with some Rocket Pipes .....thats their website...heres a sale on the pipes HERE.The front tire depends on what type of riding you do.....i would just get a the ones with the line down the middle for basic dune riding.Welcome to BansheeHQ Edited October 24, 2004 by Banshee~ Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted October 26, 2004 Report Posted October 26, 2004 you can mill your head up to .030 and still be ok. you want to keep your cylinder pressure 165 psi or less for pump gas.I gained 30 psi milling my head .025. if you want to be able to steer i think mohawks are the best, they handle great and there the lightest. but also costly Quote
