Brooke Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 no shit. this time though, ive got an awesome new look for it, so im anxious to get it up. ive gotta paw through all my files to gather up my shit though. thats the part i hate the most. Quote
rocketpig Posted October 14, 2004 Report Posted October 14, 2004 Same here. Building the site itself isn't that bad (or the template, that is). Digging up all your work, converting it to .jpg or .gif, and plugging it all into the template is the pain in the ass. Quote
PolyKarbon Posted October 15, 2004 Author Report Posted October 15, 2004 (edited) Jesus H. Christ (what does the H stand for?) ! Rocket Pig, your art is freakin' amazing. If you have to that good at drawing, etc.. then I guess I'm out. Now that I think about it, this would probably be a bad job for me, cuz I'm just not THAT creative. Cotton eyed Joe Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 hahahahahahahahaha nice one stan!i like yours the best. Yeah...well don't go stealing it. Its copyrighted. I used to love doing VICA and such in highschool, and did some drawings after I graduated. I even got nominated for a scholarship my senior year, but didn't go through with it. I designed a few tattoos n things, did a few logos for local bands, but gradually lost time to invest in artwork. It was fun, and I have mad respekt for anyone involved the graphic arts, design etc. Quote
ledofthezep Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 LMAO Good stuff there Cotton eyed Joe, the oh-shit sun takes the cake. Quote
rocketpig Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Poly, don't get too frustrated. I'm probably considerably older than you and have been doing this stuff for years. And trust me, there are artists out there that make me feel like a no-talent hack. You just keep to what you're good at and don't give up. Quote

Poly, personally I have found that if you are interested in graphic design you don't really need a whole lot of traditional drawing skill (ie painting, drawing, doodling). I know many digital artists that can't really free hand draw on paper, but do incredible work on photoshop/psp/poser/etc. Originally graphic designing was what I wanted to get into when I came out of highschool, though the simple tasks of learning 20 different programs was much more then I could handle. Now most of the time I am just frequent with psp and photoshop, doing free fun work for bloggers at modblog.com Graphic designing and coding is more-so a hobby for me now then an occupation. Too many are into it.. Quote
Jibrille Posted October 15, 2004 Report Posted October 15, 2004 Also for all you guys that are into graphic design, do you showcase your work on personal sites? or places like deviantART.com or blogs..? deviantART was great at first but went downhill after they changed staff, and attitudes. Quote
