STUNTLIFE4ME Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 CAN ANYONE HELP ME??? I CANT GET THE GEARS RIGHT. I WANT MORE LOW-MID RANGE. I HAVE A 13 TOOTH IN THE FRONT FOR THE TIME BEING. IF ANYONE KNOW A GOOD GEAR RATIO PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Quote
snazman Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 What mods do you have?? And where are you riding....sand...hard dirt or what??? Those are things that will determine what gears you need to be running. Quote
Holyman Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 And what is your compression reading? Quote
STUNTLIFE4ME Posted October 13, 2004 Author Report Posted October 13, 2004 I RIDE MOSTLY STREET. I HAVE REEDS PIPES FILTER AND SOON I'LL HAVE TIMING ADVANCE. Quote
fixitrod Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 I know this may sound crazy but try going to a bigger sprocket in front. The thirteen can wind out to fast and make you shift through the gears like a mad man. It might be what you are looking for. Quote
banshee76179 Posted October 13, 2004 Report Posted October 13, 2004 stock gears or 15/41 is what I run... Quote
RIPPEN Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 (edited) I Just put the 13 tooth on the front and I think I have the 44 in the rear. Iam really not sure if I like it. I think it will work nice in the sand but on the gravel or loose dirt it just doesn't hook up at all until 4th gear, where as 3rd was when it started to hook before. I have the single carb on it so it never lagged low end before but i have heard alot of people swear by the 13 tooth so i gave it a try. So i guess if your low end is a problem a 13 will wake it up but otherwise if it doesn't perform in the sand like I hope Iam going back the 14. RIPPEN Edited October 18, 2004 by RIPPEN Quote
