sandslinger03 Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I went to the dunes this weekend and my bike was running like crap and needed to be rejeted. I had 280 mains in and I called one of the shops that I have always gone to and the guy in service told me to run a 400 main. I put it in and the shee ran great. Is the main a little to high or is the guy right and I am just weird. Also my eleveation was about 1000. Quote
sredish Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 Dude, we have no idea of your mods... I could assume pipes and filter. But then, you could have one of a million things. 400s are pretty large, if it ran better then you needed more fuel for the air mixture, so you either are flowing a lot of air, have a good leak, or aren't getting enough air velocity through your carb to pull the fuel out of the jet. Get back on mods and all for us to get a better idea. Running a plug check will tell you how good that jet is for your current setup. Quote
sandslinger03 Posted October 3, 2004 Author Report Posted October 3, 2004 sorry bout that my mods are dmc 916's, K N clamp ons, and pro design head with 21 cc domes. Quote

In fact, a lot are running some decent porting and are only hittin 380 mains. I'd fire her up and take some carb cleaner, and spray the piss out of your intake boots and manifolds and shit. You probably have a leak somewhere from taking it apart or something. You should be around the 300 mark you first mentioned, and in a worst-case, I've seen 330s with similar mods, but 400's are quite large. Quote
01bansheeke Posted October 3, 2004 Report Posted October 3, 2004 I've got 390's in mine..and aSHIT load of porting and more mods. I may be a tad rich. If those are your only mods..you've definitely got problems elsewhere. Quote
