snogimp Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 thanks to all the great help and info from the HQ locals, I rebuilt my shee. I put a new top end with new wiscos, and new seals all around. I stripped the frame all the way down and built her back up. like a new machine. I have her threw the break in period and she runs like a rapes ape. the only little problem i have is my low end. she is a bit hard starting when cold. and after warm it takes three or four kicks to get her to lite when riding. she smokes when idle quite abit. I thought it was because i ran 16:1 mix threw break in and figured that i had a lot of oil in the pipes. but i beginning to believe it my pilot. also, It seems like my choke doesnt make a hole hell of a lot of differece when starting and when cold. throttle responce isnt bad. i have the air screws out 1 1/2 turns. Do ya think i out to go a lean size on the pilot or am i turned around? what do ya think. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 I had a similar problem and I went a size up on the pilot...starts 1st or second kick now...The smoking is probably from the oil rich mixture, and maybe any excess grease, etc. that is on the engine from the rebuild. How does she feel when riding it? Does it bog down at any certain point? Quote
snogimp Posted September 23, 2004 Author Report Posted September 23, 2004 at first she was a bit boggy on the low end. I turned out the air screws till she was okay. she had a nice evn power band threw out mid and top. when you say up on the pilots, you mean one size richer. right? Quote
snogimp Posted September 24, 2004 Author Report Posted September 24, 2004 ill give her a shot. thanks for the info. If you ever make it to saint anthony give me a holler. I live 40 minutes away. well ride Quote
