The Clutch is stuck engaged on my 1994 banshee. I was riding it down the road and pulled in the clutch while at high speed. That pulled the clutch handle up away from the handle bar and then the wheeler just started to roll no matter how much gas i gave it. I looked around this site and saw other people had this problem and read what some people told them to do to fix it. I pulled the short pushrod out and the ball was stuck to it. I noticed that the Clutch push lever axle is stuck and no matter how hard we try to move it it woud not budge. It was this way after everything quit, bent up around the carb. we bent it back to were it should be, because it did not move were it was, and it won't move. We belive that the long pushrod is stuck to the Clutch pushlever axle because it wont come out with a magnet or by leaning it on its side. If you have any sugestions on how to fix this please help me

I did the same thing coasting down the hill. The only way to fix was to split the cases $400. If you end up doing that have the crank trued and welded while its apart $75. You don't really need a clutch saver kit as long as you don't hold the clutch lever in while coasting or extended ideling (sp). Good luck. Lets us know how it turns out.

had same problem, ball welded to screw, push rod wont come out, you could split the case. easyest if you want to go through that much work. i pulled the lever from the case, used a diamond file and about 5 hours of fileing to get ride of the burr till the shaft moved freely again. i also have a back up for that i keep in my tool box on long trips. it is a few drill bits, bigger by some in sequence till you get to a big ass drill bit which will allow you to punch the rod out the stator side, then i have a pipe tap, and a plug to fill the hole. don't think i would have any adverse affects from this mod, but i am waiting till i need it to find out. i also check and or change the ball every time i am in the engine over there. i keep one of each of those parts in my box, it is only like 50 bucks worth and it is way better than sitting at camp while otheres ride. oh, and the ball from yamaha is $0.89 pluss shipping, but if you or some one you know has the ability to order stuff from work like me, the ball is .467, and i think the best you can get is .464. hope tyhis helps. later
