siezed-up Posted September 11, 2004 Report Posted September 11, 2004 I just built up my Banshee and I put a stock clutch in it. The fibers, springs and plates look great, but it slips when I nail the throttle in every gear. It will eventually hook up but not when I need it. Can I just put in heavier springs or should I get an aftermarket clutch? Quote
bigwill Posted September 11, 2004 Report Posted September 11, 2004 sounds like a adjustment thing-does the clutch arm line up with point on the case of engine and do you have any play at the lever? Quote
siezed-up Posted September 11, 2004 Author Report Posted September 11, 2004 Yes, I have about a 1/4" at the lever Quote
pimpeinkc Posted September 14, 2004 Report Posted September 14, 2004 did you check the ball bearing inside, are you sure your adustment screw lock nut is tight. other than that, depending on your mods you might have to go with a heavy spring, i got lots of mods and threw an old set of clutch plates, which are fiber from a clutch i bought on ebay for my warrior and they hookup fine, i do have heavy springs though, you could pull the lever out of the case and make sure there is no burrs on the pin which comes in contact with the lever. hope this helps, if now write back with more info and i will be able to give you a better answer Quote
