2k2shee Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 ok well, i was trail riding and i got to this straight, i opened it up in 4th, it started whippin side to side then it skidded to a stop, i started the usual cussing under the breath and i found out the problem, the bolt snapped thru the cotter key hole in the lower left a-arm. so i walked home and got the tractor, loaded the banshee on the bushhog and toted it home. how can i fix this? is the ball joint replacable? the yamaha a-arm is $250! rediculous. if its not replacable im thinkin quicksand +2's and works triple rates Quote
roosthrower Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 If you can afford it, go aftermarket. The ball joints are not replaceable and I have lost a ball joint also and it did suck. I nearly went over the bars after landing a small jump after my lower left ball joint gave. I had to stand on the opposite side nerf bar to ride it home. It was a long drive back. Quote
bbluebanshee Posted September 8, 2004 Report Posted September 8, 2004 I did the exact same thing this weekend!! I was going across some whoops in the sand in 3rd gear. I brought the front end up to make the trip across the whoops a little more bearable, and when i set the front down....snap. I looked down just in time to see my lower left a arm hit the sand and the tire whipped sideways... and over the handle bars i went. Quote
banshee0044 Posted September 9, 2004 Report Posted September 9, 2004 this is crazy...that just happened to me about a month ago...and i went over the bars too but thanks to quadmx i just got a lower set of a arms for cheap...ask around im sure someones got a set of lowers they could ship you out for close to nothing.. but liek roostthrower said...if you got the money..def. upgrade Quote

I was talking on the phone with gary(guy from qucksand) and we had a good 15 min. talk about shocks and he was telling me just to get the works dual rate shocks, good bang for the buck and they perform very good. My a-arms should be here sometime next week Edited September 10, 2004 by John19 Quote
Cowboy Posted September 13, 2004 Report Posted September 13, 2004 I had just bought my banshee, had it two days, was riding it into town to show it off to some of my buddies, and I had the lower A-arm come apart at the spindle....stripped nut believe it or not...yeah, a bent axle, broke my brand new bars, and ripped my fenders to shit doin about 40...... Quote
sweetshee4312 Posted September 27, 2004 Report Posted September 27, 2004 this kinda happened to me, but the nut fell off the ball joint and the a-arm fell off, stuck on a rock and launched me, then the quad fell on my head....thank god for tha, or i would be dead, or almost dead Quote
tithead Posted October 17, 2004 Report Posted October 17, 2004 NAXbansheeman has a set of +2 a-arms for sale, i think they are quicksand. give him a pm, hes dying to sell them! Quote

2k2shee Posted October 22, 2004 Author Report Posted October 22, 2004 no offense to quicksand...but theyre slow as hell on delivery, it took something like 5-6 weeks. i like the a-arms, i just got them in yesterday, but it took forever, maybe i wont break these, gary told me that the banshee spindles are the softest spindles of any 4wheeler there is. but the new suspension is great, works triple rate and the +2,+1.
