Killer_Shee Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 This should give all the people who were wondering about Killpecker a good idea of what the area is like. Quote

BansheeBrian Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 That place looks great! If it's close to you're house you got the good life. Those hills look good enough for a few friendly drags. Quote

The Rebel Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 That's what I'm talkin' about. I bet the weather is cool up there too. How big an area is that? Quote
Killer_Shee Posted September 7, 2004 Author Report Posted September 7, 2004 That's what I'm talkin' about. I bet the weather is cool up there too. How big an area is that? It is a good sized area. The legal riding area is in the neighborhood of about 8 miles by 3 miles. There is at least twice that much more dune area that is shut off for "Wilderness Study Area." The taller dunes show between 150 to 200 foot of rise on my GPS--not Glamis, but good sized hills no less. The weather wasn't very cooperative for us this weekend. There was a good amount of rain and the sand was just soaking wet. Combine wet sand with Labor Day traffic and you can see how chewed up the dunes got. I love riding at Killpecker--it's far enough out of the way that it isn't every extremely busy and it offers some of the best dune riding I have experienced. Quote
racer Posted September 7, 2004 Report Posted September 7, 2004 There was a good amount of rain and the sand was just soaking wet. that equals unparalelled traction. Quote
