need some help here

need some help. my buddy's shee is down and not running. about a month ago we wereout and it was running fin the first day and the second it just died on the trail. it almost started but never did . gott good compression and did a leak down test...fine. stator is working... key for the flywheel is fine but... NO SPARK anybody know how to test the coil and cdi or know of any thing else i should check out ...help

If it worked and then didn't work at all, I'd say there's a wire off somewhere. Clean and inspect all the terminals to the stator, cdi and coil. Make sure your kill switch isn't shorted out somehow.

If you get some spark and it won't start, that could be something totally different.

sounds like the tors or stator to me. How do you know its not the stator? Did you try disconnectting the tors? little black box above the left exhaust and parking brake switch.

I agree with Holyman and Banchetta, could be something simple (although not always easy to find) like a wire shorted to the frame or the stator decided to give it up. You can test the stator and the coil with an ohmmeter, check out the Electrical FAQ link below, but if it's the CDI the only way to know for sure is to swap in a good one, if everything else checks out it's a definite possibility.
