Brianshee Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 I have vito's super stock forged pistons .100 over bore (66.42mm on left and 65.92 on right). I'm installing a cool head with 19cc domes. My question is will I have enough clearance? I had my stock head milled .040 and the pistons were hitting the head gasket. May have used wrong gasket? Maybe rod strecthed? Quote
fixitrod Posted August 31, 2004 Report Posted August 31, 2004 .040 shouldn't have been hitting the head gasket. I have a stroker and it had to go through the head gasket and I never had a problem. It was .040. I don't know what other head gasket would even be close to a banshee head gasket. You don't have a big bore motor do you? Quote
Brianshee Posted August 31, 2004 Author Report Posted August 31, 2004 bore is .100 over. The head gasket cut a groove into the top of the piston. It is a banshee head gasket. Do the head gaskets standard or are the matched to the over bore. Quote
fast500#12 Posted September 1, 2004 Report Posted September 1, 2004 there are over bore head gaskets. i know on my kx 500 i would have to get one if i bore it. i would imagine that you need to on a banshee also being that the head gaskest are pretty close to the bore to keep a tight seal. Quote
Brianshee Posted September 1, 2004 Author Report Posted September 1, 2004 Do cool head domes come in over bore sizes? Quote
