Capone Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 I replaced my head due to overheating issues, seen the head was pitted, piston was a little marked up, not too bad, I had a hunch telling me to remove jugs. Upon inspection I noticed skirt of piston was missing. Might wanna do a top end, or at least check your pistons/rings out... Quote
banshdog Posted October 11, 2004 Author Report Posted October 11, 2004 havent posted in here in a while, but you are right on vitobanshee. Checked the compression had about 130 in the left and 80 in the right. Come to find that the top ring was gone from the right piston, which caused the markings on the head. I have since rebuilt my top end, and am in the process of breaking it in. Trying to get it broken in before i go to the dunes in 2 weeks for one last hoorah before winter. Just for shits and giggles i could try to get some pics of the f'ed up piston and post them. thanks for all the help and suggestions though, i appreciate it guys. Quote
