racer Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 i dont see the benefit in pluggin the holes. just put a stock balance tube back in if anything. Quote
MotulMonsta Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 The tube is there to help with the pressure diffrence between the carbs at diffrent strokes during it's cycle. It makes jetting easier and helps with hesitation. Without that tube, you have to be SPOT on with your jetting and any deviation is greatly exagerated by the lack of flow between the two sides of the intake. The ballance tube does exactly what it says, balances the intake fuel/air charge between the two carbs. Quote
DMAN94 Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 to fill the holes just use a piece od alum. rod (solid) the correct size of the holes and use wire like you would use to hold your grips on. mine have been removed for years. bike ripps, never had a problem. Quote
Screamin_Banshee Posted August 25, 2004 Report Posted August 25, 2004 Mine are blocked off, and both plugs look identical. The bike RIPS- I had a buddy turn down some aluminum plugs to fit in the intakes, then just used the factory clamps to keep them in place. He made them a little bigger so it was a tight fit, and they didnt fall thru.... Quote
