98TEAM ALBA Posted August 28, 2004 Author Report Posted August 28, 2004 Should I try to lean the needle about 2 clips then go bigger with the pilot or what? This damn thing is pissing me off Quote
98TEAM ALBA Posted August 28, 2004 Author Report Posted August 28, 2004 I thought I would tell you. It runs good even with a 27.5 pilot until the engine gets up to temperature. I am completely confused with this thing!! HELP Quote
Wallynut Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 (edited) If you haven't already done so, read BenBB's tuning guide. First thing you do is the mains with plug chop to determine if you are correct. The rest is fine tuning. I've found that by changing ONLY one thing at a time eliminates a lot of guess work about whether any changes are working. Also make sure that your carbs are sync' after ANY changes involving opening the carbs. It can be frustrating and sometimes you just want to ride, but getting it right can be the difference between it screaming or blow'n. Tuning, can be the most important part of maintaining a banshee. Keep working at it and keep posting if you can't get it. ALL your tuning and plug chops should be with a warmed up engine. PS sometimes major changes @ pilots/needle position shows that your required to re-evaluate your mains. 03' fmf fatty's with turbine core II's lid on, K&N filter 500-1000ft elevation 320mains needle-4th from bottom 27.5 pilot 1.5 turns on air screw Edited August 30, 2004 by Wallynut Quote
