Banshee17Racing Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 I just bought a 2 into 1 intake with a 34mm PJ that will have a clamp-on K&N w/outerwear. I wanted to know where to start on jetting. Right now I still have the stocker's on. I have 310 mains, 32.5 pilots, and the needle is on the 3rd clip. I have T-5's, K&N w/lid off, elev. is around 750 ft. and it's about 70-80 degrees outside. I've been trying to read as much jetting info on 2 into 1's but it seems like most of them are dealing with PWK carbs. WHat type of a difference will this make being a PJ carb? I just wanted to have some type of an idea on where to start so I can get some jets before I tear into it. Any help is greatly appreciated!! Josh Quote
CrashFireBanshee Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 I am still playing with my jetting but I have the 2-1 with a pj 34mm , Fatty pipes, K&N clamp on. Elevation is 1000-3000 mostly at 3000 so far I have a 55 pilot and a 185 main. Hoping to get some more readings this weekend. Quote
Banchetta Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 I"m running dual 34's and have also tried the pwks....The pj's run a lot larger pilot. I"m running a 58 pilot w/ 185 mains also...When I ran the pwks, I had a 162 main and 40 pilot, so there is a HUGE difference between the two types of carbs. Quote
CrashFireBanshee Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 Yeah I bought mine used and the pervious owner was running a 68 pilot. I thought that was way to big so that is why I am still playing with my jetting. I still can't run it with the idle adjustment/ choke all the way down. Think I should go larger than a 68? Quote
Banchetta Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 maybe your too big and by raising the idle up will just make you run off your needles circuit since your idle setting is too high...try a 55 or 58 and go from there. I have to turn my idle all the way in when I had the 60 pilots in my pwk's...way too rich. Quote
CrashFireBanshee Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 I put a 55 in and I still can't turn the idle adjustment all the way in. It has to stay at about half out to idle at all. I have also tried going down all the way to a 45 I think it was and that didn't help either. Any more suggestions. It lugs for a second on the bottom end. I need it to rip from bottom to top please help Quote
United Pot Smoker Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 have you figured it out yet? i have a 2-1 34 pj also and i bought 50 pilot and 160 mains and i havent got to try them yet. all i have is fatty pipes. Quote
CrashFireBanshee Posted August 24, 2004 Report Posted August 24, 2004 Ran mine this weekend at just over 3000 ft. 185 main and a 55 pilot. still have the idle adjustment about half way out and the air screw is two turns out. RAN LIKE A BAT OUT OF HELL!!!!! I loved it. oh and it was between 80-90 degrees. Hope this helps. Needle is in the middle slot Quote
