Screamin_Banshee Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 There is alot more to it than just mods. It is more about, weight of rider, chassis set-up, tire size, track conditions, and then mods. Those bits of information would be helpful, as well as what gear you launch in, and what gear you cross in- plus roughly where it is in the power range. You want it just about topped out in that gear (I use fifth). Quote
Mod Banshee Posted August 19, 2004 Author Report Posted August 19, 2004 Ok I am 270LBs and I still have the stock Chassis with With Work Ultacross rear Shock and Custom Axis Front shocks and Razr 2 rear Tires (20/11/9) with self tapping screws in them and Razr Front tires 21/7/10. And I start off in first or Second gear. Quote
Screamin_Banshee Posted August 19, 2004 Report Posted August 19, 2004 OK and cross in what gear?? Have you thought about goin to struts to replace the shocks? What kind of traction are you getting? Does the front end lift on launching? Quote
Mod Banshee Posted August 19, 2004 Author Report Posted August 19, 2004 On some tracks it will lift and on some it wont Lift it is all according to what the track is made of. I want to cross in 5th. No I do not want to run Struts right now Because I still Trail ride. Quote
Screamin_Banshee Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 Have you ran the bike before? How does the 14/41 work for you? Try to set the bike up to leave in second, first gear is kind of short and pointless, plus I would rather not have to shift thru neutral if at all possible. Quote
Mod Banshee Posted August 20, 2004 Author Report Posted August 20, 2004 Yes I have ran the Bike before 14/41 works good but I cant start in 2. I drag Raced Last weekend in trail mod and won my class Quote
Screamin_Banshee Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 ok and what gear were you crossing (finish line) in? cant leave in second? it hook and bog? Quote
Mod Banshee Posted August 20, 2004 Author Report Posted August 20, 2004 (edited) 5th Yes it would hook to good and bog so I had to start in first Edited August 20, 2004 by Mod Banshee Quote
Screamin_Banshee Posted August 20, 2004 Report Posted August 20, 2004 So you are pretty much where you need to be then... Crossing in the top of 5th. Might try addin a tooth or two to the rear, might help launches a little more- and shouldnt affect the top end too much. Quote
Mod Banshee Posted August 20, 2004 Author Report Posted August 20, 2004 OK Thanks I will try that. Quote
