I think I am do for some larger pilots. I've played with the idle and air screws and nothing helps at all. I won't even try to idle on its own. It just shuts off when I let off the throttle. When I barley get on the throttle though just to where it clicks, the motor snaps really hard and the rpm really starts to race. Are these symptoms of needing new pilots?

Sounds like a TORS problem. On the left front frame tube just below the

gas tank is a black TORS module with a single connector plug. Disconnect that

plug and that will probably cure the problem. Did you have your carb slides out recently? If the slides do not return all the way, but the TORS switch in the thumb throttle says they should be, TORS will disable the ignition.

When you give it enough throttle to open the little switch in the thumb throttle

housing, ignition is restored. It sounds like you may have a slide stuck open since it revs real high when you move the throttle just enough to make the switch click. I'd disconnect that module anyway and forget about it.

Yea you hit it on the head. I went back out there to tinker with the carbs and noticed that I had plugged the tors wires together. When I plugged them in earlier today I thought it was a headlight plug that came loose. As far as the motor racing like it is, I just think that that's the way the port job has effected it. It is using the air/fuel mixture far more efficiently than it was with stock porting so that's what I think the quick and somewhat high revs are from.

The high revs are from an air leak or cable holding up the slides a little...Your motor needs air to rev up. Find where its coming from.
