LeChicharon Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 Well my right piston went and peices went all over the place. Thank goodness that it got shut of right away, virtually NO damage to the crank, rods, jugs, etc. But my prob is there are pieces in the bottom of the crank case that i can not get to . Is there any way i can get an ALUMINUM MAGNET to get all the pieces out? Also there are small pieces in the small holes on the side of the case. Now WITHOUT having to split the cases, can anyone help me????????????????????????????????????????? If someone can also tell me a decent picture host i can post the pics of the case and the piston. racer Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 haha, finally it happened to someone else. there i no way that i know of thatll get shit out of your bottomend other than elbow grease. when my left side went all the big stuff flew out the ex. port but i still had to split em to make sure. get clymers, a flywheel puller, and go for it. streetshee Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 aluminium magnet ,take the motor apart, save yourself tears later when the new top end eats old piston, ive also got the same dilema at the moment after my melted piston, because there is a sort of grey slime in the crank house, maybe from mixing with the piston, coolant fluid, petrol an oil? . i dont know, but anyway im not takin any chances, and while im there im gonna put my rd 400 rods in and blaster pistons seeya. mrmatt Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 You should split the case and clean it right. But I think you already know this. If you want to take your chances, then turn your Banshee on its side and wash the lower end out with Kerosene. Quote
LeChicharon Posted August 4, 2004 Author Report Posted August 4, 2004 Thats a good idea Matt. I got a clymers. I guess im just lazy I ll probly just split the cases. is it that much more work? Im down to the connecting rods and i have never split the cases before. Quote
