Noob Banshee Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 How do you find out what a cylinder had been bored out to? Or if it has been. And if it needs to what size pistons do i get? etc etc? Quote

Noob Banshee Posted August 4, 2004 Author Report Posted August 4, 2004 how do you figure out like 30. 60. over wtf does that mean in ...so i got to a place and tell them bore it 50. over? Quote
racer Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 i look at the crown to see where im at then i take it to the shop and say "take er one size up, ill need the pistons too" Quote
LeChicharon Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 When people say they bored there cylinders 2 hundrits over that means the bore size is increased by 2/100's of an inch. Usually inches. Thats why you see sizes in the Wiseco Catalouge STD=Standard 0.020=2/100" over bore 0.030=3/100" over bore ETC People may also say... "i got mine bored out Twenty Thousants." But if you remember elementary 20/1000 also = 2/100 Do dis make any cent Quote

svtkid78 Posted August 5, 2004 Report Posted August 5, 2004 Lechicharon, the reason they say thousandths is because that is what you measure you piston and cylinder specs to. If you measure to the hundreth you will not meet clearance specs. Quote
