sredish Posted July 31, 2004 Report Posted July 31, 2004 I read somewhere on the net that there's a big group trying to get Sand Mountain closed due to the "Sand Mountain Blue Butterfly" or some shit. Said it is an endangered species and it's the only natural habitat. I read that they've been pushing pretty hard and there's a slight chance they could get it done. Dunno, just thought i'd pass that along. Quote

Dunno, just thought i'd pass that along. Man I hope for 2 reasons those fuckin hippies aren't out your way. #1. You are further east of California than I am. It would mean that the are probably eyeing up my riding spots as we speak. #2. You got hippies stinkin up the place. I wouldn't doubt that there has been something studied (I use the term studied lightly, more like twisting an observation into what they want it to be) and there might be a butterfly there that is indiginous to your area. I can honestly say in all the years I have been riding I've never pulled a half dead butterfly from my radiator. I'm sure if I ever do I'll be sure to give it mouth to probosis resesutation and flap its little wings up and down to get the bad air out and the good air in. Right after I'll be sure to drive post haste to the nearest vetrenarian for immediate medical assistance. Quote
sredish Posted August 4, 2004 Author Report Posted August 4, 2004 (edited) The hippies are everywhere, but they all seem to start from the west and work eastward. ledofthezep Posted August 4, 2004 Report Posted August 4, 2004 LMAO! Who the hell comes up with a theory on resesutating a damn butterfly. Quote
crbanshee Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 look at the area between glamis and gordens well..they tryed to close that for some lame ass bug that was endangered they couldnt make that stick so they tryed to use some plant as an excuse..both times they came up short on the research and now most of the closed areas are slowly re opening...this is just a BLM ploy to take over the dunes and riding areas so they can go have their gay fest hippie partys out there in private...come on look at the new sticker...green stickers used to be the norm now you get a red sticker and can only ride the areas part of the year???? DOWN WITH THE B.L.M SHAME ON THEM Quote
decon Posted August 10, 2004 Report Posted August 10, 2004 (edited) ya thats red sticker shit is lame. i heard 03 banshees and up get red stickers because of polution or some shit, but it makes no sense because all banshees got the same basic design. Edited August 10, 2004 by dEcon Quote
Ducman Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 Its called the Buckwheat Kerney Butterfly and it is related to the spotted owl, the swansons hawk, giant gopher snake, and ferry shrimp. All of which are bull shit. Sand mountain is the most desolate place on the friggin planet. There isn't a single tree within 20 miles and the one tree 21 miles away was artificailly planted for landscaping in the nearest town. I didn't see a single animal or bug or evidence of either of any kind when I was there in the spring. There is a little bit of grass on the outskirts of the sand and sage brush beyond that. If a nuclear bomb went off there I dont think you would scientifically be able to scientifically prove there is any change in the local environment. The BLM has been hi-jacked by city born idiots, offspring of 60's hippys turned yuppe, with 4 year degrees in biology that are out to save the world, but the government and local economies really need to be saved from them. To hell with them fucken fuckers. Quote
Yamahammer Posted August 13, 2004 Report Posted August 13, 2004 Its all bull shit, they pulled the same shit last year or before on jetskis on the water at lake mead but you could still use an out board 2 stroke makes a shit load of sence to me they tested the water and cleared it to ride. They did close some areas though only to jet skis. Want to hear a bullshit law a 10,000 dollar fine for refuelling on the river from a gas can , But they have gas stations on the river and its legal go figure.. A 1200.cc jet ski puts out more polution than a twin big block cigar boat i think not.. Quote
