Hey, I took the swingarm off to install my TM design works chain slider and have had a few problems getting everything back together. I have the swingarm bolt back in, so now all I need to do is get the shock linkage hooked up and connected.

My problem is that I cant get the bottom of the shock to fit where it needs to go.. There are 2 pieces that go on the sides of the shock and then it is supposed to fit in between a spot on the linkage, then a bolt goes through. But I cant get the shock in there with both those pieces on the ends. I am trying to get them to just sit flat, but they wont. Clymers is no help.. Doesnt even mention them! Only shows the picture, which suprises me..

Any tips?

Clean around the bottom bolt hole of the rear shock, and regrease the spherical bearing that is in there. Then install those two flanged washers, they push into the mounting hole and stay put pretty good.

I usually jack the rear end of the Banshee up to get the holes in the linkage to line up with the hole in the shock.

It's not hard if you do it like this.

I use all elbow grease, one hand puckes the swingarm up, the other guides the shock in and then slapes the bolt through.

Make shure you've clead all the dirt out of there..it'll cause the bushings not to seat right.

Ya, after watching no replies come in too fast (which I expected for a tuesday afternoon) I went out with a flashlight to see why they wouldnt go in.. The rubber seal was bent in and filled with sand and crap.. Cleaned it out, went right in.

Thanks
