I'm planning a trip to Winchester Bay from about the Wednessday before Labor Day Through Labor Day, 9-1-04 through 9-6-04. My motor will be done by then (4mm stroker) so I'll be Jonesing to flawg the beast up Ol' Baldy. I'll be staying in the campground closest to the doon entrance point in my dads RV. Would love to hang with some fellow HQers. Also planning a fishing trip on a party boat and some crabbing.

Anybody else going that weekend?

I've never been to Florance because its a bit farther comming from CA. How does it compare? I might give it a shot for a day. I'm going to be in Winchester Wed thru Sat (9-1 to 9-4) and probably Spinreal and/or Horse falls Sun and Mon (9-5 to 9-6).

florance is huge compared to winchester, There are alot more trails in florance then winchester. different riding. Would say it's more fun but it's allways fun in the sand no matter where you are.

Every place from Coo's bay to Florance has a bigger area than Winchester but how about the vertical. Are there any hills to climb with some size?

Florence, you can ride on the beach. Clean showers in the south campsite.

Two "Famous Drag Hills" First one in south jetty parking lot and what i call Banshee hill or the Third tree island. PLENTY O' ROOM to ride.

More GREENs you know who im talking about. The greens that think they are cops! Florence has more than Winchester and North Bend Combined. If you are coming from the south dont bother with Sand Lake. Unless you like Flats and Tree Shots Only ;)

I prefer riding at Winchester Bay. ya you can't ride on the beach, but you can only do 25 mph on the beach anyway. Trust me I almost got a ticket for riding 6th gear w.f.o. Someone has cut a new spur off of Banshee hill. It's still pretty wicked, alot of roots, and a couple of trees the lean into the trail. I was going to attempt it last weekend when my engine gave way. If I can get things back together, maybe I will try to head over to meet a few of you.

Have a safe ride :bolt: ..........
