nickxc Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 I needed an axle so I saw this post that shellbyzfan33 had one for sale look here I emailed him a couple times and got his word that the axle was not bent. I get it home and put it on and its bent worse than the one I allready had . I emailed him 3 times in the past 2 days and no responce. when I was interested in the axle for sale he was getting back to my emails every day. now I want my money back and no responce. I would expect this type of thing from someone you dont know on ebay but not a fellow bansheehq member. I thought $70 was cheap but when asked if the axle had ever been bent he replied the axle is fine!! I would like to hear something on this!!
banshee04le Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 Yep, I don't think UPS bent it. Lets hope he does the right thing. Even if he some how didn't know that it was bent, the only right thing for him to do is to take it back and refund your money.
superchicken Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 how was the axle packed for shipping.maybe it got bent in transit?did you get insurance on it?
dcmoose Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 not sure, but didn't someone else have a problem with somthing they got from him before
banshee04le Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 How would you pack an axle to be anymore sturdy than the axle itself A titanium shipping enclosure perhaps?
nickxc Posted July 27, 2004 Author Report Posted July 27, 2004 It was packaged well. In a styraphome rectangle package and a box over that. It had 2 inches of styraphome all the way around it, in order to get to it to bend it they would have had to dammage the package severly. I hope he just didn't know it was bent and gives me back my money. I would even pay return shipping to him if he would give me back my $70.
superchicken Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 most ups and other parcel services use a converey belt from a second story to the ground level, and yes things do roll off from around 15 to 20 feet in the air,and yes an axel can bend at that hight.if i was to ship and axel i would put it in a piece of pvc pipe.very rigid and can flex without breaking i used to work for ups so i know how things get broke.
Gargamel Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 thanks for the warning and hope he gives you your money back
ledofthezep Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 That sucks. Seriously....I would have never thought that out of him, being a frequent poster & all. Shitty deal.
nasty01banshee Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 bend an axle in transit ????? come on i beat the living snot out of my stock axle and didn't finally bend it until i launched straight up a cliff and landed on one rear tire before the other with about 4 feet of vert.... even the lawnside gorilla's could'nt bent that sucker......
nickxc Posted July 27, 2004 Author Report Posted July 27, 2004 it def. didn't get bent in transit. the package was in perfect condition. It was like a styraphome box with a lid and everything. in order to bend the axle the box would have had to have some serious dammage. Ive been screwed!!!
Hockey390 Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 UPS can do some serious damage.. But this is the box my pipes came in.. No dents, no scratches, so bending an axle... I doubt it.
00BANSHEE Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 Sorry to hear you had problems. I got a swingarm from shellbyzfan33 and it came packaged like you described right on time with no problems. I am sure he'll make it right with you.
brock_fuzzy_69 Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 i sold him a crank this spring he sent me the money right away and it all went smoothly
yamaharacr34 Posted July 27, 2004 Report Posted July 27, 2004 it dont look bent in tha picture he took of it?
