BansheeBoy17 Posted July 21, 2004 Report Posted July 21, 2004 This things never gonna run right... just rebuilt the whole thing and started it and an oil seal broke so i tore it apart and found a screw wedged in the gear in front of the clutch... took it out put a new oil seal in cleaned all the metal shavings out... started it, not its only firing on one cylinder , checked all the wiring and stuff it seems good, did plug tests and the left cylinder has a really weak spark , it sparks once every 5 kicks, then the right plug doesnt spark at all. What could be causing this? Quote
Titanium Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 I beleive the exact same thing happened on mine Does yours fire more when your in a certain RPM range? My left cylinder would fire consistently, but the right one would only fire every once in awhile, but when i reved it, the right cylinder would start firing good for a few seconds, then as I passed the band it would go out, then farther up it would start sparking again Something tells me CDI or Coil Quote
racer Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 that has coil written all over it. im having the same issue so does anyone know where to find one cheap, or does MSD make one? cause MSD is the shiznit Quote
ledofthezep Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Make sure your plug caps are on good, unscrew them, clip the wires back just a bit & re-screw them back on & make sure they got a good connection. Check your coil for good ground too. Just something to try anyhoo. Quote
lincster Posted July 22, 2004 Report Posted July 22, 2004 Ohm out the coil and your plug wires. Instructions are in Clymers. That will tell you. Only way to check CDI is to swap with another bike. Quote
