Dark Ranger Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 My axle has a slight bend on the left by the hub. It causes my Banshee to shake violently at high speeds. I was wondering if any of you has ever had one straightened and if so, did it work well? How much did it cost? Quote
421stroker Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 I used to straighten my blasters axle all the time. I used a press and then rolled it on a flat surface. I'm pretty sure I could never get it to stop shaking at higher speeds. Also, it is weaker after that . Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 I had an axle straightend on my old warrior. The shop must have done a good job becasue it ran perfectly true. I dont remember the cost, but if you do any serious jumping or ride real hard i would consider an aftermarket axle. Ricky stator has a pretty affordable one. Quote
BdBanshee Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 I straightened mine twice, from two different incidents. Worked great for years, but finally broke! I used a hydraulic press to straighten it, and set it up on a surface plate with indicators to find the high spot. You have to go past straight a ways because it will flex back some. Takes a bit of practice. If you ride hard it would be better to get a replacement. Quote
