I just put SSt's on and a k&N and i also have an open airbox. I don't have the lid otherwise it would be on. Anyway, after i put the pipes on at first (before i rejetted) i kicked it a couple time and it started up and sounded alright. There was only a 220 main in there so i new it need to be changed. So the next day i put a 300 in and it started for a second then it wouldnt. It didnt even sound like it wanted to. so today i went down to a 280 and i still have nothing. Is it needle location Air mixture or just jetting. I don't see how it could be jetting though because that should only effect my tope end. Thanks for readin that long ass story.

I'm assuming you have stock carbs. Make sure the choke tube is in place

between the two carbs. If so, one or both of your slides probably are not

fully closing. If one hangs up, a switch inside the TORS setup on top of

the carbs disables the ignition if the thumb throttle switch says that the slides

should be closed. You need to make sure the slides are in right. You need

to see them to make sure they are both opening and fully closing in sync...you may be able to if you remove your filter and shine a flashlight, I'm not sure. You may have to remove your air box. Do you have spark? Are the plugs

wet?

i put brand new plugs in and they werent wet the last time i checked. i think the choke tube might be the problem. How exactly does it hook up to the other carb? im gonna try puttin at 220 becuase thats what someone by me runs with Lrd's and a K&N and those were the jets that came out. Thnkas A lot

First of all 220's are way too lean for k&n and pipes, keep the 280's in there. The choke tube is a little black hose that connects the 2 carbs together, it is located on the side of the carbs, it will not start without it.

i just put that choke tube back on. It didn't seem to help tho. I'm not sure if it's flooded now or something but i don't think so. I'm gonna wait a little while and try again. Hoowever there are two holes on the insides of each carb. i thought i used the right ones because i thnk the others are to big. I'll try those and be back.

You could give me some credit!! The petcock was def on. When i pop started it, it just TOOK off i had no control over the throttle. Then i was able to kick start it and it did the same thing. After it cooled down tho i couldnt kick it over. I know it's the throttle, but i can't tell where.

sounds like choke tube or air leaks, or the slides aren't fully closed. I'd pull the air filter and look at the slides to ensure they're down and synced, then move on to choke tube to be fully sure it's installed correctly then if your still having problems, maybe it's an air leak in the boots or inake tract.

i got it to run this morning. I rode around the block and came back. It seemed ok myabe needed jetting and the back brake seemd to lock up on a occasion. However when i came back my buddy started it and it went nuts again! i just went outside and started it and watched the needles and it started and seemed normal vould it be play in the cable or something like that? O by the way the left needle wasn't sliding in correct, beacause theres a little play in it and i guess it was not going in the hole. Thanks for all the help.
