DevilDriver Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 i thinnk i can read the numbers on my motor but still havent found them on the frame. the frame numbers should be by the foot shifter on the side of the frame right? on the motor i think i see 2 digits, a letter, then 6 more digits. does that sound right?? thanks in advance Quote
holeshotkid Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 That's where it should be. Anything manufactured after 1980 is required to have a 17 digit VIN number. Quote
DevilDriver Posted June 27, 2004 Author Report Posted June 27, 2004 17?? ooh ok i gues whats on the motor is just a casting number or something. that sucks i stripped the paint off that whole rail and i see nothing. not even weld or grind marks. i was looking for the sticker thats usually on quads but didnt find that either. well if this thing has no number at all can i have DMV issue a new one? or is that out of the question? holeshotkid Posted June 27, 2004 Report Posted June 27, 2004 The numbers on the motor are not associated with the VIN. The VIN would have been stamped in the side of the frame. You don't have an aftermarket frame do you? I would contact the DMV and give them the old "what if" scenario. Quote

holeshotkid Posted June 28, 2004 Report Posted June 28, 2004 I have no idea about that VIN chart. I have a 92 that has the required 17 digits. Interesting..... Quote
