Recommended Posts

I know the old and new carriers are different, but can you use a new carrier on an old swingarm?

Also, anybody have any experience buying from Yamaha Banshee Rider ...he has a swingarm I am interisted in.

Im not familiar with old and new carriers.....

do you mean stock??

If so, I didn't know there were year differences.

Yes, you can use a new carrier with an old swingarm, but you will need to get a couple of washers to use as spacers for the top bolt. If you look at a new swingarm it has washers spot welded on the inside of the top carrier mounting tabs. An old swingarm has the washers on the outside. You may be able to leave the outside washers on, but you will definately need to get a couple for the inside. They do not need to be welded on, loose is fine.
