sinister shee Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 can anyone tell me what the exhaust port hieght on a ported cylinder should be. mine is like 28 or 29 mm. can i go more? and i want to put a 4mm longrod stroker crank in it and i heard you have to have a different port height for that setup. would appreciate any help especially from a pro thanks alot. fixitrod Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 I wouldn't go any higher than that. You have to remeber it's more than height.. .it's shape. Porting is an engineering art. Quote
PassionRE Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Max. port height spec will vary depending on how your stroker is set-up. Max spec will be different on a base plate motor vs. a revised stroker dome set-up....Jim Quote

sinister shee Posted May 28, 2004 Author Report Posted May 28, 2004 i will be using the base plate spacer. is 28mm to much, not enough ive got the race logic porting now, do i need to take it to a builder to have any thing else done. the porting ive got now work great with stock crank, my friend has porting done by a local well known builder and we run the same mods and run just about the same. just wondering about the stroker with base plate. Oh there are answers to that question, probably a dozen different ones depending on who you ask. Actually, the type of stroke compensation of the stroker is just a portion of whats considered in a good running stroker motor. Its much more complex than just that...Jim Quote
