Brian G Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 Just to let all of you know my friend just got back from there yesterday and he said probably 40% of the dunes is flooded. all of the flats ar under water, and the beach was almost completly coverd in water, he talked to one of the DNR guys and they have some 7 foot holes of water out there, and he also said that this is the worst he has seen it and he has been with the park for 32 years!!!! Good luck and bring the snorkel set up for the drags!!!!!! Quote

doltz Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 I just got back today from Silver Lake. Most of the dunes are perfectly fine but the drags are under water. They have a drag going west to east from the beach but it is a little wet and is very whooped up. If you have a rigid drag bike dont waste your time for a few weeks but if you want to have fun on the dunes it is perfectly fine riding. Quote
bansha60 Posted May 31, 2004 Report Posted May 31, 2004 Yeah, we are still planning on going too, We'll see what happens with this bad storm, thanks for the updates, look for us Minkia38, we'll be sporting the duct tape! Quote
