splpete Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Ok heres my boggle. I am running an 04, pro circuit plats & silencers, boyseen 2stage c.f reeds, pro flow air filter w/moded box, boost bottle, 32:1 yamalube, 340 mains, pilot screw 2.5 turns outward, dyno needle w/ clip @ 4. At the moment the rest of what makes shee run is stock. That all said, I changed from 300 mains to 340 this week to eliminate my "bog" @ 5th & 6th, I figured "to lean". Now my plugs are damn near at "death white" only a little tan on them after a WOT test. For some reason I am at a loss for brains, any info would be great. Next Q, I am planning on installing the 200w stator & adj. timing plate, maybe go +4, will I have to rejet again? Should I just wait till all is installed or ......... thats my problem, I am confusing myself. Oh yeah, West PA (2,000 + ft) and it was quite warm & humid today. Thanks guys, Scott Quote
J..J. Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Now my plugs are damn near at "death white" only a little tan on them after a WOT test. It still seems lean, even with the 340's, did the bog clear out? West PA (2,000 + ft) and it was quite warm & humid today This should have richened things out a bit??? I am planning on installing the 200w stator & adj. timing plate, maybe go +4, will I have to rejet again? I would jet her correctly now and then once the stator and plate has been fitted, re-check the jetting again. It shouldn't change too much with just a timing change. Do one thing at a time. If you are sure there are no air leaks then go up on the mains, as much as it seems hard to believe... Quote
splpete Posted May 25, 2004 Author Report Posted May 25, 2004 Yeah J.J, thats why I am lost. 340's and my plugs look as though 10 more mins. to melt down. I am just scatching my head, my pilot would not be much of a help in this situation, right? Could there be to much/not enough air? I have been going over & over what all I have done & I can't think of a damn thing I may have done wrong, not that I could'ny have. Man I am losing it, I'm gonna crack open a cold one and just try to relax. Thanks Scott Quote
splpete Posted May 25, 2004 Author Report Posted May 25, 2004 Yeah, it did. Although after my 1st plug test I did not want to retry again, fear, go figure. Scott Quote
Banchetta Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 Try a 380 main and go from there......you might also want to check for leaks.. Quote
